Tribute to Orthodontics
I think this is a compelling tribute to the power of orthodontics. While I am not finished with this case, it is such an amazing difference already. The anatomy has changed and benefited from the use of an appliance and straight wire progression. When this girl first came to us, she would hardly spoke at all; she hid her mouth with her hand when speaking, and she made only rare eye contact. She was timid, awkward, and self-conscious. Now she is learning to smile without fear and is engaging in conversation. Not only is she going to be more attractive on the outside, but also she will be more confident and fulfilled. Her appearance has held her back for years, and now she can break through the barriors that she has had in place her whole life.
I love cases (and patients!) like these.
